Benefits to
Backup as a Service
- Flexible: Choose how long you want to retain backup copies, meaning you can keep specific datasets and backups indefinitely (useful for regulatory requirements).
- Customisable: Set backups to almost any level, from individual files to applications all the way to full systems, meaning you can choose what’s important to you.
- Secure: Strong encryption both in-transit and at rest, with storage in SSAE-compliant or ISO-certified data centres, meaning data is always secure.
What is Backup as a Service?
Backup as a Service (or BaaS) is a business continuity solution that replicates corporate files from devices and shared file systems, storing them in a separate location.
That means files and data can be retrieved if lost from the original location – whether the loss was accidental, deliberate (for example a disgruntled employee) or an act of nature.
It is best practice to store important backups in hybrid cloud architecture, giving redundancy, meaning risk is minimised in the event of natural disaster.
Why use backup as a service?
Files and data stored on corporate devices and shared file systems can go missing for several reasons.
Accidental loss of data occurs when employees lose devices or simply when data is deleted by accident; purposeful loss of data sometimes happens when employees leave their role at the organisation or when cyber criminals manage to enter your systems. Data can also be lost through cyberattacks, such as malware or ransomware and even in the event of fire and water damage.
Backup as a Service prevents your organisation from being at risk in any of these instances.
BACKUP FOR Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 services like OneDrive, Teams and Outlook don’t automatically backup data. That means it could all be lost if something happens.
Our Backup as a Service solution works seamlessly with the entire Microsoft 365 suite.
FAQs
Is backing up data to the cloud a risk?
No, all your backups are encrypted in-transit and at rest.
How often will the backup of my data run
How often will the backup of my data run
How much will it cost to backup my data?
It depends on how much data you have, call us for a price.
Absolutely, if the files are on your system, whatever their age, we will back them up for you.
Having a cloud backup gives you a plan B in case of any fire or water damage to your onsite server allowing you to fully recover. Stats show that large numbers of companies who suffer a data loss shut down within the next 12 months, therefore having a cloud backup protects your company.
We can restore everything down to an individual file.
We encrypt your data during transfer and at rest so that should anyone be monitoring the transmission the data they would get would be unusable to them. Don’t worry though, your data is fully recoverable and you won’t need to do anything on your side to decrypt the data.
It refers to inactive data, basically once your backup has completed your data will be at rest until the next backup.
Currently we partner with Cloudberry and Veeam to power our backup service.
