Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to maintain the Atlas Cloud hybrid network infrastructure as well as the delivery of network infrastructure projects to both existing and new customers. This is a focused and highly technical role, the individual will work closely with ‘Network and Security Manager’, to plan and execute major network infrastructure projects (cloud and on-premise) as well as maintenance tasks such as upgrades and patching. Building a strong relationship with our ‘Platform and Infrastrucuture Specialist’ and ‘Service and Operations Manager’ will be vital for the role, assisting with troubleshooting network infrastructure affecting live services, ultimately ensuring the smooth running and security of Atlas Cloud systems and delivering network solutions to customers. The successful individual will display a high level of network related technical skills spanning both on-premise and cloud technologies, alongside possessing excellent organisational and communication skills. This is primarily a home-based, high-level technical role, with scheduled requirements to attend our on-premise datacentre in Newcastle and some requirements to attend the office for workshops and planning sessions.


  • Network support for private data centre infrastructure and customer infrastructure, WAN and LAN Networking.
  • Monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting on network devices including switches, routers and firewalls.
  • Provide network related support to projects and implementation team.
  • Handling 2nd/3rd line Network Support tickets.
  • Network configuration backups.
  • Network device log monitoring and analysis.
  • Network device alerting.
  • Design, Implementation and Support of Cisco SD-WAN Solution.
  • Deployment and configuration of Cisco Firewalls.
  • Perform Network Audits on Customer Infrastructure.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco Meraki infrastructure.


  • Compliance of all Atlas Cloud policies & procedures
  • Continuing to meet Atlas Cloud delivery targets
  • Continued recording of timesheets
  • Continuing to minimise slippage on all projects
  • Meeting individual objectives set by Infrastructure Manager


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Significant high level technical expertise working within an IT environment.
  • A track record of successful project delivery as technical lead.
  • A minimum of three technical certifications relevant to the technologies used
  • Planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self motivation and organization skills.
  • A desire to expand current knowledge set.
  Technology familiarity:
  • WAN/LAN concepts and configuration.
  • TCP/IP Stack concepts and configuration.
  • DHCP/DNS concepts and configuration.
  • VPNs (Site-to-Site & Point-to-Site).
  • Routing Protocols (OSPF & EIGRP).
  • Network Redundancy
  • Experienced with Cisco Networking Products (Firewalls, Routers and Switches).
  • Cisco IOS and NX-OS command line interface.
  • Cisco SD-WAN concepts, deployment and configuration.
Desirable but not essential skills:
  • Familiarity with Azure networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Citrix Netscaler
  Essentials qualifications:
  • CCNA
Desirable qualifications:
  • CCNP
