PR | Excitech and Atlas Cloud bring agile computing to construction sector

excitech and atlas cloud

Enfield, London – 25th November 2016 – Atlas Cloud has partnered with leading provider of technology solutions and services, Excitech to deliver operational flexibility to its customers specifically in the construction industry.

The Atlas Cloud solution takes applications and data and presents them in a single view in the form of a centralised, cloud-based desktop that is accessible on any Internet enabled device (including tablets and low spec hardware), everywhere and at any time. This delivery model is called hosted desktop or Desktop as a Service (DaaS).

Excitech’s combined experience in IT and software enablement for organisations in the construction sector, and Atlas Cloud’s hosted DaaS solution offers an affordable IT model for business growth. The partnership brings a scalable, OPEX-based solution to enable customers to deal with the wide variety of technology challenges faced by the construction sector.

Operational agility for architects, engineers and contractors is often restrained by the prohibitive costs of adding new equipment and hardware to their IT estates. The costs of high-performance hardware, especially to meet fixed-term project based demands, can represent a significant investment and be a deterrent to many companies.

“Firms are faced with a pressing need to gain easy, everywhere access to a BIM enablement platform, while also de-risking any investment involved in addressing growing demand,” says Peter Hardicker, Excitech’s Head of IT Solutions Sales. “They need the flexibility to scale resources up, and down, to meet operational requirements without the inflexible financing burden of long-term fixed computing assets.”

“Users can gain full access to files and applications from any device, anywhere. The need for complicated hardware no longer exists. Devices are just a window into the systems that a professional needs to perform with full access to information and files,” says Atlas Cloud’s CEO, Pete Watson.

Speaking of the new partnership, Watson says, “We are delighted to be working with Excitech, an established leader in the construction sector. Our two companies together now offer an approach to IT, mobility, and low-risk business growth that will enable any construction organisation to compete more effectively and profitably.”
