On October 7th, a few members of the Atlas Cloud team gave up their beds and slept on the cold streets of Gateshead.
They were joined by dozens of other like-minded professionals all aiming to raise money for Action for Children.
Action for Children hosted the night to aim to help improve and change the lives of young people, by making sure they all have a safe and loving home.
Hosted across the country in ten different locations, more than 1,700 people participated in the sleep out. The North East location alone raised around £40,000 from the event.
SERIOUSLY FUN
Our CEO Pete Watson took the role of the Quiz Master for the night whilst representing Byte Night in his very own onesie.

Although the night was filled with fun activities and lots of socialising its main purpose did not stray.
It’s a lot easier to give up your bed for one night knowing that in the morning you can return to a warm, safe home. But the reality is that over 300,000 young people have to face these conditions on a daily basis, not just for one night. Which is something that is hard to imagine if you are lucky enough to have a welcoming home.
Pete told Action for Children, “As a father, this cause has really resonated with me. I’ve heard first-hand about the lives that Action for Children work tirelessly to improve – from preventing homelessness to ensuring that, from a young age, children have the best start in life possible. Action for Children do great work to help children and young adults that are vulnerable and need support to succeed in their lives”
“I’m also a member of the Byte Night board based in the North East, and have chosen to lead by example to make sure that Action for Children can continue to help vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
“It’s a great opportunity to meet your peers so that you can work as a team to raise awareness and vital funds to ensure all children and young adults are given the support they need.”
A GRAND TOTAL
Our friends at Sage donated an incredible £5,000 to our fundraising efforts, meaning the total Atlas Cloud have raised comes to £5,777.46.
Collectively across the country £806k has been raised. Byte Night’s event target is £1.4 million which is still achieveable.
Although the sleep out is over and done with, donations are still welcome.
