Why does Microsoft 365 need security enhancements?
The Microsoft 365 portfolio of apps is packed with enterprise-grade security capabilities, but they must be configured.
Out of the box, Microsoft 365 isn’t super secure and Microsoft themselves advise enabling their ‘not on by default’ features. To help organisations better understand this, Microsoft developed a Secure Score for the Microsoft 365 portfolio.
Microsoft admins can check their organisation’s current score by navigating to: https://security.microsoft.com/securescore
The great thing is, the vast majority of additional security features are already included for free within most Microsoft 365 licences. Like Microsoft’s Endpoint Manager, for example. They just need to be configured correctly to avoid business disruption.

- Unlock Email Encryption to ensure sensitive information remains confidential during transmission
- Unlock Endpoint Management to ringfence company data on personal mobile devices
Be a.i. ready
In a world where generative AI looks set to disrupt the way we work, security configurations become increasingly important.
Microsoft’s own Copilot is now available within the 365 portfolio and requires advanced security configurations to stop the AI from accessing key information on behalf of users that shouldn’t necessarily see that information.
